THE 25 CENT TOUR

Some of you (who are far away) have asked for a little tour of St. Sebastian where I have just been assigned. Here is a picture from the front of the Church. I was standing across the street in a park that faces the Church. What a wonderful setting and we are very fortunate for that.
The nave.
The sanctuary. I should have had somebody standing in this picture to give you an idea of how large the mosaic is. But consider this: standing flatfooted on the sanctuary floor the top of the tabernacle is over my head.
Be it ever so humble there's no place like home. This is the rectory. It is quite beautiful and full of detail. This is where Fr. Schnipple will be staying during his visit.
A view from one of my windows. That is a rosary surrounding a statue of the Blessed Virgin. I guess the students stand on the beads as they pray the rosary each saying his respective prayer on his turn. That will be interesting to see. The grounds are taken care of by dedicated volunteers by the way. They do a spectacular job.
There are many other things to see and perhaps some time I will share them. But I do love this little building right off the Jr. High School wing. It is a little greenhouse.

Ok, this is very cool! I have been to your new parish MANY times visiting my in-laws in Akron. We found St. Mary's downtown in the last year since they have an EF now so we haven't been to St. Sebastian in a bit. I hope you have a wonderful home there. Thank you for the photos. I think it made my husband a tad homesick.

Very nice, the nave is all lovely, golden and light. And the Rosary on the grounds, hmmmm.... I wonder if Jim, my husband, would do one of those in our yard--what a great idea!

Father you might be interested to know that the rosary stones was part of an Eagle Scout project that Kathy Drehman's son did about 5 or so years ago. As I recall he did become an Eagle Scout! Kathy plays trumpet in the Praise and Worship Ens.

Wow, that is a very unique-looking church! The grounds are beautiful--I especially love the Rosary on the ground! It all looks like a very peaceful place. I wish you and your parishioners much happiness and many blessings there. :)

Seems quite elegant. Don't know if I like the green strip on the altar of sacrifice. The colors in the windows are nice. Is that a plant on top of the tabernacle?

Truly the Lord has blessed the people of this parish - a beautiful church and and a holy priest to serve them there!

Thanks for the info Elena!

Uncle Jim - It is referred to as "modern Romanesque" though I would not have guessed that being that there is not one curved arch in the entire place. The rectory is Mission Revival I guess.

Thanks Rob.

SO MANY PEOPLE have commented on the plant which is not on top of the tabernacle but on a shelf above it (for use with a monstrance which is now used on the forward altar) that we decided to take it off and see what people think. Fully - I thoguth it owuld look bare but it makes the crucifix stand out more.
