Regarding the music website, Father, thanks for the trip down memory lane. I remember even some of the songs from the early 1950s, when I was a tot. Listening to a selection from the 50s and early 60s, I was struck by the innocence of life protrayed by most of these songs: respect for womanhood, teen love and its laments, aspiration of getting married someday, plus some social commentary and some just-plain-fun songs (e.g., Purple People Eater). The singers had great voices, the singing groups relied on talented vocal harmonies, some of the singers also played guitar quite well (Johnny Rivers, for example). Some songs inspired dance steps that became "the rage" for a short while--the music had "a great beat and you (could) dance to it." Andy Williams even had a song about a visit to Lourdes "The Village of St. Bernadette" (early 60s). My, how "teen culture" has changed.
