SO I'M PRO-LIFE. NOW WHAT?

It’s one thing to be pro-life. It is another to understand what to do with that sentiment. What does being pro-life mean? Pray. Okay. Try to live and make choices for myself that are keeping with the Gospel of Life. Okay. Vote. Okay. Now what . . .?

Do you want to make a difference? Especially those of you now in college, do you want to be able to say to your family 50 years from now that you took part in the movement to bring to an end the mass destruction of your generation? Here is an opportunity to find out exactly how.

Operation Rescue XX will be a national pro-life rally (held in Philadelphia), a remembrance of twenty years of the work of Operation Rescue, and most importantly, a leadership training conference aimed at (but not limited to) college age students. It will be on Thanksgiving weekend, November 23-24 – (You’ll be home for Thanksgiving dinner guys!) Here you will receive the training necessary to enable you to defend the lives of the most vulnerable and innocent among us.

In preparation for this event, Randall Terry will be traveling the United States to promote the event and speak about being pro-life. If you would be interested in having come speak at your parish, college, or other institution while he is in your state, please contact Steve ASAP at neopoko@yahoo.com. Here is where Randall will be:

September

4 – 5 Atlanta, GA
6 – 10 Nashville TN
11 – 17 Cincinnati, OH
18 – 25 Steubenville, OH
26 – Oct. 5, Harrisburg, PA

October

6 – 7 Binghamton, NY
8 – 11 Rochester, NY
12 – 18 Boston, MA
19 – 26 New York, NY
27 - 31 Southern NJ, Philly, PA

November

1 - 6 Northern Virginia/ Wash., DC
7 - 9 Greensboro, NC
10 – HOME!
23 – 24 Operation Rescue 20, Philly PA !

Any Cleveland takers for the September 18th – 25th dates?

But more importantly, if you want to become part of the next generation of heroes to rise up and offer yourself to God for the sake of the unborn, please call (904) 461-0834 or check out operationrescue20.org (which doesn't seem to have the right information as of yet, but I am told it will) for more information.

When Steve (late of Cleveland) of Operation Rescue contacted me and asked if Adam’s Ale could help get the word he added, “And believe me, you don’t want to miss Randall . . he simply inspires.”

Which countries would be overpopulated and why would you classify them that way?

Well, since Satvic isn't going to reply, I thought I would take the opportunity to deny, for the sake of all the "correct" readers out there (As Satvic calls you), that Overpopulation is a myth and a dangerous lie. I would be happy to elaborate via e-mail or on somebody else's blog. (since I don't think Father V plans on blogging that.)

Satvic - I missed you.

You keep us on our toes.

Hey Rob, Send me some stuff - it should make an interesting read.

Two studies on "the pill". Besides the havoc it wreaks on women it is depleating the fish population (the chemcals we make do not magically dissappear - they go somewhere) and is also returning to us in our food chain. Interesting to see how that screws us up.

Hey, friend, that says it all.

Folks can get a little clique-y online, but that's not true here. Heck, this is the one blog I wouldn't ever delete from my feed.

Hang in there.

"Correct" people agreeing with you always...

Because we agree with what is an undisputable truth, a moral law created by God not a false pretence constructed under Man's false pride. Reality is always hard to swallow and never pretty, my dear...but someday you have to accept it.

Hey, Randall Terry cheated on his wife, left her, and I believe married his mistress. What gives?!

I'll be honest and say that I do not have any knowledge of this. The question becomes do we accept his pro-life message and does he have (the right?) to promote it and/or should we listen to him?

I want my president to be morally upstanding and I have a problem following him if he is not - as people do with priests.

Does this guy have a dubious background? It hurts to have a message one believes in and it come from a person about whom you have doubts.

I leave that up to you kind folks.

Anybody have any resources for insight into this or opinion on this. It's too late for me to think more.

Ahhh! I didn't mean to stir up controversy! I really don't know what his whole story is. I also saw on the internet that he became Roman Catholic in 2005. Maybe he has cleaned house?

This is what I have found in a press release:

Randall Terry is the Founder of Operation Rescue, the largest peaceful civil disobedience movement in American history. Randall has been arrested over forty times for peaceful opposition to abortion. He has spent more than one year in various prisons and jails around the country.

After over a decade of lawsuits against him because of his prolife work, he lost everything to pro-abortion forces in 2002. He is getting back on his feet and climbing back in the ring to take another swing against those who would murder the most innocent.

As a powerful and eloquent prolife spokesman, Randall has appeared on 60 Minutes, Nightline, Oprah, Donahue, Hannity and Colmes, Crossfire, The 700 Club, The Trinity Broadcasting Network, Meet The Press, all major network news broadcasts, and scores of TV shows in America and around the world.

Randall has heralded the pro-life message in newspapers and magazines in every continent in the world. The New York Times called him an "Icon" of the pro-life movement.

Randall hosted his own nationally syndicated daily radio talk show, Randall Terry Live, for nearly a decade. He has authored five best selling books, and taught his leadership seminar, "Taking Back The Gates" across America and around the world. He also founded The Christian Defense Coalition and Loyal Opposition, in which he has labored extensively against homosexual marriage, child-pornography, and stem-cell research, as well as abortion.

Besides being one of America's best known Christian leaders, Randall is a gifted singer, songwriter, and musician; his music has received critical acclaim. He is the husband of Andrea and has 4 beautiful boys, ages 5, 3, 2, and 1.

Um, I think he has some problems in his family life, like a lot. But God can work through all kinds of people, like gollum saving middle earth in LoTR...

Randall Terry wrote that press release that you quoted so of course it would ignore some of the questionable things concerning his past and possibly current life. He keeps going on about the case against him by NOW. Truth be told Terry bailed out of the case and settled out of court. Joe Scheidler and the rest of those named rode the case out to the Supreme Court and were vindicated early this year. Terry cowed to the NOW and the abortion industry. Instead of standing and fighting he fell on his own sword.

Next, Terry has a way of re-inventing himself as times (and possibly) finances require. His fund raising tactics are suspect at best. With all of the legitimate pro-life groups out there, why promote something that is suspect as RT?
