TUESDAY QUOTE OF THE WEEK CIX

FINDING TRUTH WHEREVER IT MAY BE FOUND: "The bread you store up belongs to the hungry; the cloak that lies in your chest belongs to the naked; the gold that you have hidden in the ground belongs to the poor." Saint Basil

QUOTE II: "[N]o passion is so utterly selfish than that of fear." Sir Walter Scott.

IN OTHER NEWS:

The Diocese of Cleveland Enewletter wants you to know that April is Child Abuse Awareness Month. Here there are links to the USCCB press release and resource page.

Sad news for Catholic bloggers! Jay is taking a break from being ring master of the Catholic Carnival. Here is Catholic Carnival 218, the last one for a little while. He would be willing to pass the bull horn on however if somebody else is ready to step into the ring. (Those were all actually circus references weren't they?)

J sent this in this post from the blog Making Things Visible. It is kind of cute. "This interest of Isaac’s has led him to the inevitable question: are there any real superheroes in this world? Initially, we talked to him about firefighters and police officers, who are legitimate people-savers. But recently, as we talked about the sacrament of Holy Orders with our 7th graders, it clicked: who are the real supers among us? Priests! And not just in a “self-esteem-boosting” kind of way." Read the rest of the post here.

Fr. D sent this in: "Do you know anything about the four medieval humors? Basically the humors are a breakdown of personality types. I first learned about the humors last year in a course on Thomas's treatise on "The Passions of the Soul," and Fr. Benedict Groeschel mentioned them on my retreat in December." If you want to take the test and see into what humor you fall click here. If you are curious I am melancholic. *sigh*

M sent this great video in. Do you think this would ever happen today? (Approx. 4 mins.)

From the same source, Fr. Z now has a streaming video of his bird feeder as well as chapel and office if you are interested.

P sent this in concerning the "CitizenLink: Study: Provocative Images of Women Lead to Objectification"

How funny, I found that Bishop Sheen video while browsing YouTube just last week. The enthusiastic applause made me sad...I don't think he'd get that on Oprah.

Another great video I found on YouTube, from the makers of ShamWow:

And surprise, I'm melancholic too!
