During the great COVID-19 outbreak of 2020 when we were all home and trapped in our houses.
What novelty there was is wearing off. Missing all of you! Chins up! This too shall pass!

Happy to see you back, Father!
Be well, take care.
Should it be bored not board?
Father, how very nice to hear from you again! We have missed you (especially on Mondays!)
I do not remember the 1973 snow storm, but I remember the 1977-1978 blizzard very well. I was in a junior in high school, and my father worked for the City of Akron Highway Maintenance Department. I recall shoveling snow (I think we ended up with about 3 feet) in the dark, while the snow came down in buckets, with thunder and lightning. Talk about creepy.
My dad, on the other hand, did not come home for a week because he and his fellow workers were plowing (one man drove - and scraped the ice from the windshield with his fingernails, and another shoveled road salt from the truck bed - it was the days before salt spreaders and other improvements) They also rescued people who had become stranded on the expressway, and drove doctors, nurses, and other essential workers to their destinations.
I miss being with everyone, too. But we have the advantage of seeing Mass every day on our parish FB pages, and communicating via email, which was unheard of in the 1970s.
If our grandparents managed during the Depression and WWII, and we made it through the blizzards - we can get through this quarantine, and if it pleases God, get through it without losing anyone from our parishes to the CV.
God bless you and Fr. Simone and everyone at St. Sebastian - Sue from St. Bernard
