Stop moping over not being faithful to your Lenten resolve.
Look forward to what you will do starting now.
If you didn’t do what you wanted to do, start doing it today.
If you did do what you said you wouldn’t, reset the date of your “sobriety” starting now and hold out as long as you can.
If you haven’t done or not done anything, pick something NOW. It’s not too late. It’s not too late until it’s too late.

Dear Fr. Valencheck,
I went to your penance generator and it told me to give up my favorite
beverage (Diet Pepsi) for a week. What the What? let us not go crazy
here. I do not like that penance one bit. I have got to have my Diet Pepsi in the morning or I'll get mean.
It is much easier for me to abstain from meat on Friday's and go to Red Lobster for lunch and dinner. I love sea food. That is holy enough for me.
