New York State Catholic Conference: ". . . New York’s induced abortion numbers have been steadily decreasing, from 118,381 reported in 2008 to 86,627 reported in 2015, according to the most recent vital statistics compiled by the NYS Department of Health."

Am I being cynical to ask if the abortion industry is trying to "drum up business?"

Essentially, an abortion doctor has always been able to find a "health reason" for an abortion (cited by Snopes as a prolife viewpoint: “a ‘health’ exception, broadly interpreted by courts to include age, economic, social and emotional factors, rather than the biological definition of ‘health’ that normally comes to mind.”).

But perhaps some women didn't know that such factors could enable them to have a late-term abortion. Now they do.

Planned Parenthood is also seeking to care for “transgender” people.

“What health services can Planned Parenthood give me if I’m transgender?

“Planned Parenthood health centers are open to people of all gender identities and sexual orientations. Whether you're transgender or cisgender, you can visit your local Planned Parenthood health center for STD testing, birth control, physical exams, other sexual and reproductive health services, and referrals. . . . At this time, only some Planned Parenthood health centers are able to offer hormone treatments for trans people. The best way to learn about the services available in your area is to call your nearest Planned Parenthood health center.”

Am I being cynical to ask if the abortion industry is trying to "drum up business?"

Bishop Barron summed it up well: https://aleteia.org/2019/01/29/bishop-barron-on-new-york-abortion-and-a-short-route-to-chaos/
