MONDAY DIARY: ALMOST EXCRUCIATINGLY TRUE STORIES: SING ME A COUTRY SONG

There is no shortage of people to give a priest an opinion on what he should be doing and how he should be spending his time.  When somebody wants you at the drop of a hat you should be the kind of priest . . .
Unless you want him supporting you activity . . .
There is never a shortage of things to do . . .
and any activitie's antithesis demanding more time for the good of the Church. . .
And it isn't just what is done, it's HOW it's done . . .
It is soooooooo difficult
Until it's put into perspective and you realize it is like this for just about everybody and on top of that, when you are asked you still volunteer at your parish.
I just wanted to say, "Thanks."

Father, I am not one of your parishioners, but I think your parishioners know how hard you and Fr. Simone work for the parish and care for your people. I must tell you, in case you have ever doubted it, they love you, too. Sometimes things get crazy and the days fly by. But just knowing you are there makes more of a difference than you can imagine.

I hope my (new) pastor and our good Fr. Frank realize the same. We parishioners are very demanding and are sometimes negligent about assuring our beloved parish priests that we appreciate all they do, but please know we do very much care about our priests. It is frightening to think of where we would be without you, who bring Jesus and His holy sacraments to us. You are so good at your work that you make it look effortless, but we know better!

God bless and protect us all, and our poor Church - Susan, OFS

The pyromaniac kid may be my favorite Excruciatingly True panel yet.
