TUESDAY QUOTE OF THE WEEK CCLXI

FINDING TRUTH WHEREVER IT MAY BE FOUND: "Push back against the age as hard as it pushes against you.  What people don't realize is how much religion costs.  They think faith is a big electric blanket, when of course it is the cross."  from Flannery O'Conner's, "Habit of Being"  h/t Fr. P

QUOTE II:  "It's impossible not to make a difference.  Every choice we make leads either toward health or toward disease.  The question is not 'How can I, one person, make a difference?'  The question is 'What kind of difference do I want to make?'"  Julia Butterfly Hill

IN OTHER NEWS:

T. V. sent me a link from the Newman Society of Georgetown University.  If you have not heard, they have asked Kethleen Sebelius to speak at their diploma ceremony.  If you are thus inclined you may see what they have to say at their website here.

For those who live in the diocese (or who will be passing through) the Diocese of Cleveland Enewsletter wants you to know about a great exhibit coming to the Maltz Museum.  "More than a mere historical exhibit, A Blessing to One Another: Pope John Paul II and the Jewish People is an interactive experience that allows visitors to follow in John Paul II's footsteps from his childhood to his role as head of the world's largest church."  Here is more on the exhibit and here is the museum site.

From the same source:  For the younger people out there, "Did you know, Borromeo Seminary, located on the grounds of the Center for Pastoral Leadership in Wickliffe, will host the Tolle Lege Summer Institute this coming June?"  Read more here.

The man who painted our St. Sebastian has two paintings that will be used during the final broadcast of Mother Angelica's rosary.  See more here.

I know I've posted this before but - GOOD NEWS - this show is coming to St. Sebastian as a fund raiser for the organ project.  If after watching this you think you might want to attend you can purchase tickets by calling the rectory or going to our website here and click on the changing banner when you see the nun.  Remember:  Part of the fun of being Catholic is knowing the difference between an indelicacy and an indecency.

Hi Father, I thought you'd like to know that the tickets are sold out! We bought the last two. :)

"We used to believe that only Catholics could go to heaven..."

Maybe in the USA but in Australia we were taught that it was possible for everybody to go to heaven - and that was before
