TUESDAY QUOTE OF THE WEEK XXI

FINDING TRUTH WHEREVER IT MAY BE FOUND: “Why then do you try to pervert the truth in wishing to be praised when you do good and blaming God when you do evil?” – Saint Augustine.

QUOTE II – “Love is a substitute for chocolate.” – Unknown

IN OTHER NEWS:

I was looking for something else for you and came across this that gives some information on saints and the symbols associated with them.

Some of you sent in some sites about symbolism that others of you might enjoy here, here, and here.

The e5 Man fasts for his bride to imitate Jesus as described by Saint Paul in his letter to the Ephesians, chapter 5 (for which e5 is named). Fasting is eating only bread and water. It is not only for married men but for men who intend on marrying also. To find out more look here.

e5?

I thought it was a typo at first. Then I thought it was some weird, new age group and registering would mean that eventually I would find myself in a small circle of scantily clad men in the forest, passing around a talking stick that I had whittled with a homemade knife and talking about my mother (which I will NOT do!).

I'm interested now that I looked at their site. You see any conflict with Catholicism here?

If I join, when do they teach me the secret handshake and send me the funny hat in the mail? (I kid, I kid.)

Really, is this something we can do as Catholics?

Most Reverend Padre Lord John Tenuous of Hopton Goosnargh, it pleaseth me and mine greatly to invite thou unto my humble abode, to enjoyest the august company of mine dearest and most aristocratic friends, in partaking in a repast fit for divine royalty! Thou mayest bring a gift of only thyself and thy chosen company:

http://adorotedevote.blogspot.com/2007/01/you-may-refrain-from-bowing.html

Thou art as complete with humour as those who so honourably have attended such genteel gatherings; thine presence and thine chaplainship t'would fulfill our repast should thou wish to impart a blessing of special significance upon us all.

:-D

rob, I checked out the website, too, and while it appears to be something open to all Christians, there are specific things that indicate this is a Catholic site. They encourage people to go to mass and there is a link to Mary. I agree, it looks interesting.

i've been a member of e5 for several years ... very spiritual ... very catholic ... aim is for we guys to take a spiritual stand for our women - tell your spouse you're fasting for her on the first wednesday of the month and see how she responds - do it for several months and see the results

Well, I think e5 men are somethin' else. Somethin' good.

Rob - I missed your first line. I though you were commenting on Tara's statment about love and chocolate and wondered how you transformed that into beating drums in the woods . . .

If it helps, Chrstipher West promotes this site (and so does Uncle Jim!)
