What? A Holy Day of obligation on a Friday and it wasn't moved to Sunday. Somebody really messed up!!!!!
New Year's Day is a Holy Day of obligation. Not in Australia. Why make the folks feel guilty that their hangovers didn't let them wake for Mass. Then priests might have to talk about state of grace, mortal sin, reconcilliation and that would never do.
That's nice you have a 7 p.m. Mass today. We did no have a late mass at our parish, but two in the early morning.Mary Bruno
